differentiate themselves in the market with a consultative approach, resulting in customer outcomes that consider a more sustainable approach for IT. This might include focus areas such as strategy planning, compliance reporting, resource management and efficiency optimisation, or the general management of carbon emissions.
As channel organisations expand their expertise and portfolio of IT sustainability solutions, they can position themselves as a long-term partner that helps businesses through the different stages of their technology journey.
At HPE, we have been working closely with partners of all kinds for quite some time now, providing them with solutions, resources, and materials to hone their IT sustainability skillset. Just last year, HPE announced new Solutions for Sustainability competency that provides partners with the methodology to drive sustainability solutions into the market.
From this experience we know that for those who want to support
customers throughout their journey, the biggest challenge is the complexity of navigating the multifaceted and interconnected systems that impact the environmental footprint of IT estates.
Partners need to approach IT sustainability from a holistic standpoint, creating smarter IT lifecycles for their customers and a solution portfolio that considers the different emissions categorised in Scope 1, 2, and 3. They need to be able to pick customers up from wherever they are within their journey. Here, delivering visibility and metrics is a crucial first step to assess the true environmental impact of their IT environment, from edge to cloud.
Building on this, partners can offer further expertise, guiding customers as they take the next steps in their sustainability journey and helping them understand how to make intelligent lifecycle decisions. This is especially important for organisations that do not have any specialised IT talent with sustainability focus in-house.
They can help them navigate the various mandates and regulations and support them in their reporting by leveraging tools like the Circular Economy report from HPE Financial Services.
