Ailanto and Cubbit launch sovereign cloud storage for Swiss enterprises
Cubbit, the first geo-distributed cloud storage enabler, and
Ailanto, a Swiss IT system integrator, has announced a Business Alliance Partnership to accelerate adoption of fully sovereign, secure and cost-competitive cloud storage services among Swiss enterprises.
Under the agreement, Ailanto enters the cloud market by integrating DS3 Composer, Cubbit’ s software-defined object storage, into the data centres of its Swiss partners. This allows Ailanto to offer its own S3 cloud storage service, fully hosted and operated in Switzerland via a federated model.
Ailanto supports enterprise customers with services spanning infrastructure operations, security, system integration and AI projects across sectors including banking, public services, healthcare and utilities. In a market dominated by hyperscalers and overseas providers, the company sought a solution that would ensure data control, high service levels and competitiveness while addressing growing sensitivity around digital sovereignty.
With DS3 Composer deployed on partner infrastructure, Ailanto can deliver flexible service tiers from a single interface and geofence deployments to specific geographic areas, aligning with cantonal regulatory requirements. Benefits include data sovereignty and resilience, alongside cost efficiency and full S3 compatibility.
Ailanto is launching the service with an initial capacity of 1 petabyte, with expansion planned from the second half of 2026.
