ENTERPRISE TECHNOLOGY transformation solutions will remain at the forefront of IT investments in Africa .
Cloud and edge computing will gain further traction as they continue to solve data challenges by empowering organisations to flexibly capture , store , protect and manage data . Looking at security , there will be an emphasis on zero trust , so that partners are able to help customers understand how to invest and apply zero trust operations when it comes to cybersecurity .
We are committed to bringing the next generation of technologies to market . We want to democratise technology , so it is vital to give our partners and customers the freedom and flexibility to continue their investment in IT infrastructure . As businesses in Africa adapt to the new digital shifts , we expect to see an increased interest in on-demand consumption models . We also continue to equip our channel ecosystem to enhance their skill sets and drive simplification of our portfolio where appropriate .
What is the Asset Recovery Services programme all about and how is this service progressing since it was launched in South Africa ?
Last September , we reinforced the opportunity that Asset Recovery Services ( ARS ) brings to partners and expanded resell availability through the channel across 36 countries .
This expansion , combined with Asset Recovery and Recycling Services ( ARR ), provides global rebate availability for partners and reinforces Dell ’ s commitment to contribute to the circular economy as a part of our ESG moonshot goals .
Partner interest has been strong , and we anticipate that our lucrative new 7 % rebate will continue to drive even greater partner mindshare and adoption .
We know that our partner ecosystem is critical to achieving our sustainability goals . By joining forces with partners to help their customers easily return devices after use , we ’ re working together to promote a more sustainable , responsible future .
We continue to set high standards to support partners , grow and modernise Dell ’ s core business , and create market opportunities .
Dell ’ s Asset Recovery Services ensure proper disposal of IT equipment for South African businesses . The service was recently extended to support any brand of laptop , desktop , server , peripheral or accessory , helping customers receive value from existing IT assets and implement sustainable recycling and recovery services at scale .
With Digital Transformation accelerating in South Africa in part because of the pandemic , how should partners be positioning themselves to ensure that they help their customers on the Digital Transformation journey ?
One of the many things the pandemic taught us is that technology is key to driving business continuity . Organisations across every sector embraced digital transformation at a faster pace than ever before . From enabling remote work to enhancing infrastructure and security strategies , there was an increased demand for efficient , agile and secure solutions .
Organisations are looking to Dell for our end-to-end product lines to transform their IT strategies and infrastructure . From creating remote workforces with our leading line-up of laptops , monitors and virtualised infrastructure to protecting critical data and applications , our partners have access to best-of-breed products that can cater to anything their customers need . Our line-up of Power branded product lines extends across our storage , servers , data protection and networking portfolios . We also expanded our As-a-Service capabilities , offering flexible payment options to give organisations greater access to technology across Dell Technologies ’ infrastructure stack including compute , storage , networking , virtualisation and data protection .
Most vendors that you compete with in the IT industry are pushing sustainability programmes and initiatives . What is Dell Technologies ’ approach to sustainability and is this going to increasingly require partners to get badges going forward in order for them to continue doing business ?
Dell operates one of the largest environmental , social and governance ( ESG ) assurance and engagement programmes in the technology sector . Through our initiatives , we proactively identify and mitigate issues throughout the tiers of our supply chain , including our channel partners . In addition , our stated intent is to reuse or recycle an equivalent product for every product a customer buys by 2030 . Another 2030 milestone is for 100 % of our packaging and more than half of our product content to be made from recycled or renewable material .
Does Dell Technologies have a sustainability programme for your partnering ecosystem and customers ?
When we work with partners who are committed to the same goals , our impact grows exponentially . Therefore , we are focusing on impact , business enablement and engagement across the partner ecosystem . We are committed to coordinating efforts to give back and provide resources and best practice sharing .
One example is an initiative between Dell Technologies and partners which saw the opening of new Solar Community
