Ossama Eldeeb , Senior Director , Partner Organisation , VMware South EMEA ( France , Iberia , Italy , METNA and SSA ), outlines how VMware is helping channel agility and ability to innovate as it pushes partners to new heights of success .

tTalk us through the state of the VMware channel market in South EMEA at present ? In the South EMEA region we have more than 4,000 plus active partners across our different partnership levels . Of those 4,000 partners , more than 1,600 are in the MEA region .
The type of partners varies from one region to another and from one technology to another . We have some partners that work across VMware ’ s portfolio end-to-end , but we also have some others that are very specialised and work on very specific solutions that are tailored to them . For example , we have some partners covering the full portfolio of our solutions and others specialising in security , end-user computing and mobility , or modern apps and Tanzu .
There is less and less money to be made in resale and more to be made across the solution lifecycle .
What has been VMware ’ s technology and solutions focus in 2022 with channel partners in South EMEA ?
We have been very much focused on hybrid and multi-cloud , networking and security , modern apps , and digital workspace , in line with the importance that many organisations now place on their Digital Transformation journey . Security is integrated into our solutions , so security is also gaining a lot of momentum across the region . Of course , the pandemic accelerated the need for solutions related to the digital workspace . Many companies discovered they were a bit late adopting the technology when they most needed it during the pandemic , and they have been playing catch up .
