Siklu and Exertis Hammer partner to deliver wireless
connectivity across northern Europe
Value-add distributor, Exertis Hammer,
and a global market leader in
millimetre-wave wireless solutions, Siklu,
have announced a distribution agreement
that will greatly expand Siklu’s reach to
wireless connectivity resellers, data centres,
integrators, service providers and OEMs in
the UK, Ireland, Benelux and Scandinavia.
Exertis Hammer has been supplying
Ethernet, Fibre Channel and InfiniBand
networks for nearly two decades and can
supply networks for the campus, the data
centre, storage and high-performance
computing deployments. As part of the
arrangement, Exertis Hammer will carry and
distribute Siklu’s millimetre wave wireless
solutions to its vertical markets.
The UK and Europe leading distributor
will be able to supply its new and existing
customers with the full Siklu product range,
which includes radios in the 60 GHz and
70/80GHz bands. Products offered through
Exertis Hammer will include Siklu’s EtherHaul
Hundred Series and EtherHaul Kilo Series that
can support deployments with up to 10 Gb
throughput, and up to 4.3 miles (6.9km), as
well as the MultiHaul Series for automatically
aligning rapid deployment. Siklu leads the
millimetre wave radio market, and offers
excellent fibre extension solutions, for
delivering multigigabit connectivity free from
5GHz interference. Siklu’s mmWave radios
provide fibre-like performance with the speed
and flexibility of a wireless deployment. For
companies in time-pressured industries,
applying Siklu wireless connectivity solutions
to the already existing networks helps
shorten the deployment timelines. The
agreement between Exertis Hammer and
Siklu will allow many UK and European
businesses, as well as public organisations, to
have the unprecedented access to best-inclass
mmWave wireless connectivity.

F5 Networks boosted by two acquisitions
F5 Networks, an application delivery
specialist, has been boosted by two
recent acquisitions. The acquisition of
NGINX was finalised in May 2019, which
significantly enhanced F5’s ability to
deliver enterprise-grade services for all
applications – traditional and modern
– wherever built or deployed. NGINX
stands out as a trusted open source
leader in web and application server
technology, providing cloud-native
support for container-based microservices
environments and new application services
such as API Management.
“Together, F5 and NGINX bridge the gap
from applications to infrastructure and
from developer to operations,” said Yazeed
Almaso, NGINX Sales Manager for the Middle
East, Turkey and Africa region, F5 Networks.
In January 2020, F5 introduced NGINX
Controller 3.0, the first major product as a
combined company. The first in a new series
of releases, the cloud-native application
delivery solution helps organisations
increase business agility, mitigate risk and
enhance digital experiences.
In January 2020, F5 also completed the
acquisition of Shape Security, a leader in
online fraud and abuse prevention, adding
protection from automated attacks, botnets
and targeted fraud to F5’s portfolio of
application services.
The union offers organisations
comprehensive, end-to-end application
security, potentially saving billions of
dollars lost to fraud, reputational
damage and costly disruptions to critical
online services. •
