EDITOR’S COMMENT
W
elcome to the latest edition
of ITC. In this issue, we take an
in-depth look at how a MDR
partner has played a vital role
in implementing a Cisco solution
for better airport security.
Destrel, a Managed Detection
and Response (MDR) partner, has
worked with Istanbul Grand Airport
to implement an integrated security
solution that has increased its
protection against physical threats.
Nowadays, airports are
unfortunately a goldmine for hackers
and there is no denying the important
part Destrel has played in securing beyond
physical threats at the airport. By turning to
p32 you can read more about how the airport
and Destel understood the importance
of securing the endpoints using solutions
that provide both Endpoint Detection and
Remediation (EDR) capabilities as well as
Endpoint Protection Platform (EPP) features.
This month’s Editor’s Comment looks in
depth at the important issue of the security
of data storage. We feature contributions
from both Haider Pasha, an expert from
Palo Alto Networks, and Nicolai Solling,
CTO of Help AG. Pasha stresses the need for
the vital element of trust, extending from
vendors, to channel partners to end-users,

in issues focusing on cybersecurity. To some
extent this goes without saying. However,
as Pasha points out, this is especially true
nowadays with the current trend of moving
more and more data off-premises as this
raises many new questions about the
integrity of the security of that data.
Solling discusses how failure to protect
data will hamper the business process as an
inability to achieve adequate cybersecurity
will lead to serious disruption, which could
even put businesses permanently out of
existence. While no one wants to see this
happen, Solling’s comments do serve as a
wake-up call to those enterprises who do
not take the cybersecurity message fully on-
board. I feel education is key here – with the
implications of breaches outlined to those
businesses who are falling beyond on the
knowledge curve.
It’s very much a case of ‘learn to earn’ as
those businesses that can demonstrate their
excellent cybersecurity arrangements are
surely set to thrive in the future as customer
confidence increases in them over time.
As for now, enjoy the read and if you
