Ministry reveals government documents
digitisation framework agreement
A
ministry in Qatar has introduced government bodies to a new
agreement to digitise official paperwork.
The Ministry of Transport and Communications (MOTC) has
introduced government entities to a new framework agreement
that will convert government paperwork and documents to a digital
format through electronic archiving, scanning, indexing, classification
and online storage via content management systems.
The Government Documents Digitization Framework Agreement
was revealed at a special event that was attended by project owners
and representatives of government entities.
“MOTC places considerable attention to providing best digital
solutions and practices that contribute to the Digital Transformation
agenda across the country within the framework of the Qatar Digital
Government 2020 Strategy,” said Assistant Undersecretary of
Government Information Technology Sector, Hassan Jassim Al-Sayed.
“MOTC endorsed mechanisms and measures that guarantee
the quality of work, using best world practices in this area in line
with Qatar’s smart transformation towards completely paperless
government. To save government entities’ time and effort, MOTC,
in collaboration with the Ministry of Finance, launched a public
tender on the agreement. We highly appreciate the role the
6
Ministry of Finance has played in rendering this process smooth
and successful.”
The agreement seeks to provide such digitisation services at
competitive market prices.
