the Shams Dubai Calculator web
application, to help customers easily decide
on the installation of photovoltaic (PV)
panels on their rooftops under the ‘Shams

produce electricity from solar power under
the Shams Dubai initiative.
By providing their account numbers
only, customers can easily identify their
building’s locations and rooftops through
an interactive map. They can measure the
usable area, number of panels and their total
capacity on a monthly or annual basis. Using
innovative interactive tools, the customer
can map out specific areas without the need
to calculate the whole rooftop usable area.
Al Tayer also noted that the interactive
map helps the customer obtain a lot of
information, such as the green charger
locations and other Shams Dubai projects
within the customer’s neighbourhood.
Results can also be shared through social
media channels. He said: “This adheres
to our leadership’s approach in adopting
creativity and innovation to provide the
best smart services with high quality and
efficiency through the optimal use of modern
technologies and appropriate placement, to
achieve people’s happiness.”
