Honeywell hosts technology symposium in Kuwait

oneywell, a global software industrial
leader, organised a technology
symposium in Kuwait to support the
country’s long-term vision of building Smart
Cities and creating a sustainable future.
The Honeywell Technology Symposium
2018 was held at the Radisson Blu Hotel
and focused on the theme of ‘Experience
the IoT Evolution in Kuwait’s Future Smart “Driven by these initiatives, buildings are
becoming increasingly online and connected,
presenting building owners and operators
with an unparalleled opportunity to harness
the power of the IoT and realise previously
unobtainable levels of safety, productivity
and efficiency.
“Through this symposium we were
demonstrating how Kuwait’s building
Buildings’. At the symposium, building
operators, end-users, partners and sector
stakeholders discussed industry trends
IoT innovations and the adoption of smart
buildings and smart cities in Kuwait and
around the world.
The event also outlined the evolution
of Digital Transformation in Kuwait by
focussing on the significant impact of data
analytics, IoT and cloud solutions on the
development of buildings, cities and real
estate projects. owners and operators can capitalise on the
IoT revolution to meet their objectives, and
underscoring our commitment to supporting
the country as it embarks on transforming
its national infrastructure through cutting-
edge innovation.”
During the symposium Honeywell’s top
officials showcased key solutions which
are making buildings smarter and more
connected across several industry verticals,
including healthcare, airports and premium
commercial facilities.
George Bou Mitri, Honeywell’s President
(Kuwait, Iraq, Jordan and Lebanon),
said: “Kuwait is modernising its national
infrastructure and focusing on Smart City
developments under the ambitious Kuwait
National Development Plan 2035.
Clickatell Transact enables UBA to launch
WhatsApp service in Nigeria

lickatell, an authorised WhatsApp
Business Solution provider, has
announced that United Bank for Africa (UBA)
will be going live with its Chat Banking
solution – Leo on WhatsApp.
In a first for Nigeria, customers can now
conduct their favourite banking activities
in a secure and convenient manner, by
communicating with their bank in a verified
WhatsApp chat. This capability is made
possible through Clickatell Transact’s Control
platform integrated with the WhatsApp
Business API.
It allows banks to roll out commonly
used banking activities, like checking
balances, money transfer and purchasing
digital products and services across popular
communication channels like USSD and now
WhatsApp. The platform offers flexibility,
reliability, fraud and risk management for
banks and a convenient on demand banking

United Bank for Africa (UBA) will be going live with
its Chat Banking solution – Leo on WhatsApp
capability for consumers wherever they
are. The ground-breaking banking platform
launches in Nigeria with UBA and consumers
will be able to conduct their banking
activities on WhatsApp and USSD.
