INDUSTRY APPOINTMENTS Mimecast appoints Jeff Ogden to drive ME ops Mimecast has appointed Jeff Ogden as General Manager for the Middle East. In his new role, Jeff will oversee the company’s UAE operations and growth in the region, and will be responsible for educating organisations about evolving cyberattacks and how to build a cyber resilience strategy for email. Jeff has been working in technology for over 35 years, 17 of which have been in IT security. Under Jeff’s leadership, Mimecast will continue to build a strong and loyal channel programme, ensuring all resellers share a deep knowledge of the company’s technology and services, alongside a commitment to customer experience. Prior to joining Mimecast, previous senior executive roles Jeff has held include leading Symantec’s managed security services and consulting division in the Middle East. Jeff also set up Netcure Middle East, a security consultancy and integrator, part of the UAE’s largest IT provider, Mideast Data Systems. Pure Storage ropes in Matthieu Brignone from Commvault to lead EMEA Channel Pure Storage announced appointment of Matthieu Brignone as Head of EMEA Channel and Alliances. Brignone will be responsible for driving high sales participation, accelerating growth and increasing profitability for partners. He brings more than 20 years of proven sales and management experience to the role. Brignone joins Pure Storage from Commvault. Prior to this, he was EMEA Channel Sales Director and France Country Manager at HP ESP Enterprise Security Products. He has also held sales and management roles with Quest Software, WASATIS, Cisco, Trend Micro and Novell. Brignone has a Bachelor in Computer Sciences from the Universite de Rouen. Saif Mashat moves from IBM to VMware as Saudi Arabia Country Director VMware announced appointment of Saif M Mashat as VMware Saudi Arabia Country Director. Saif will be responsible for implementing and driving VMware’s growth and development across the country at a time when organisations are looking to simplify and accelerate their digital transformation in order to stay competitive. Saif brings almost two decades of experience in the IT industry, having earned himself a reputation as a transformation expert during his times in senior leadership roles at IBM, SAP, Oracle and Microsoft, as well as in a number of start-ups. He joins from IBM Saudi Arabia’s Cloud Business Unit, where he oversaw an operation comprising of more than 40 professionals working across cloud services, software and technical sales. Khaled Al-Dhaher moves from HPE to Accenture as Country MD in Saudi Arabia Accenture appointed Khaled Al-Dhaher as Country Managing Director for Saudi Arabia. Al-Dhaher will be responsible for managing operations and driving Accenture’s digital consulting strategy in Saudi Arabia. Al-Dhaher brings with him considerable experience in delivering state-of-the-art and innovative solutions in industries ranging from financial services, retail, wholesale and manufacturing to oil and gas and distribution. Prior to joining Accenture, Al-Dhaher was the Managing Director for Hewlett Packard Enterprise’s business in Saudi Arabia, where he drove profitable growth and market-share expansion across HPE business groups. Earlier, Khaled held numerous leadership roles in the technology and banking solutions practices of Microsoft, Oracle and other multinational organizations. Al-Dhaher holds a PhD in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign.  55
