channel’s customer
engagements with
SD-WAN
I
n order to drive up employee
productivity and achieve the
commercial agility needed to
successfully compete in a crowded market,
businesses are increasingly enabling
enterprise-wide, high-performing
applications by storing information in
the cloud instead of in their datacentres.
This is enabling them to purchase the
products they need directly from original
equipment manufacturers (OEMs), so that
they no longer need an intermediary to
deliver, stage and install new equipment
or software, or to provide upgrades or
carry out licence renewals. This directly
impacts on the role played by enterprise
channel partners, and has the potential to
destabilise existing partner relationships if
not carefully managed.
With cloud and hybrid IT environments
requiring a different approach than
traditional networks, channel partners are
positioning themselves as expert service
providers who can assist their customers
with the migration to the cloud. The
following are common application-related
challenges organisations face, and the ways
in which channel partners can help them
address, all of which go to strengthen their
customer engagements.
1. Aligning digital transformation
with business strategy: In today’s
fast-paced tech environment, any
organisation can set up servers, storage
resources and applications within a
matter of minutes. Because everyone
is implementing the same technologies
– including mobile, social and big data
– organisations do not automatically
gain a competitive advantage just by
adopting new tools. Instead, they must
move beyond the mere adoption of
these digital technologies and look at
how they contribute to an executive-led,
enterprise-wide strategy that improves
business processes and application
