IBM’ s Takreem El Tohamy nominated for US President’ s council on Africa
Amit Roy takes over as Paladion EMEA head
Paladion announced appointment of Amit Roy as Executive Vice President and Regional Head for EMEA. Amit is one of the founding members for Paladion’ s operations in the Middle East and has been with the company for over 12 years.
Amit will head the company’ s business operations across Europe, Middle-East and Africa, and will be responsible for continuing Paladion’ s growth, overseeing sales operations and increasing the company’ s presence across the region. Paladion’ s flagship product includes CyberActive Threat Defense and Response model.
Amit has completed his Masters in Marketing from Institute for Technology and Management, India. He has over 15 years of computer networking, security sales and marketing experience. Before joining Paladion in 2004, he worked with CMC Limited as an Account Manager for three years and was responsible for managing key accounts for the company.
IBM announced that Takreem El Tohamy, IBM’ s General Manager for the Middle East and Africa, has been appointed to the US President’ s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa. Takreem El Tohamy is among a group of 23 private sector leaders selected to advise the US President on ways to strengthen commercial engagement between the United States and Africa.
The President’ s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa was created in 2014, as part of an Executive Order signed by President Barack Obama, to promote broad-based economic growth in the United States and Africa.
As a member of the President’ s Advisory Council on Doing Business in Africa, Takreem El Tohamy will provide information, analysis, and recommendations on US-Africa trade and investment priorities, including US and Africa job creation, developing and strengthening commercial partnerships to increase US public and private sector financing in Africa, and analysing the effect of policies in the United States and Africa on American trade and inv
With more than 30 years of experience at IBM, Takreem has led expansion of the company’ s capabilities and facilities across Africa. IBM now has a direct presence in 24 African countries. IBM also has been investing in developing local skills and talent.
Shukri Eid to manage Eastern region of Cisco Middle East
Shukri Eid has been appointed Managing Director of Cisco Middle East, Eastern Region. In this role, Shukri will lead Cisco’ s business in UAE, Oman, Pakistan, Afghanistan and Yemen and work closely with partners to support private and public sector customers in their efforts to digitise and transform their operations.
Shukri is a Cisco veteran of ten years and has worked in multiple leadership capacities across the organisation. Over his career he has led high-profile strategy, business and technology transformational engagements, working with senior officials and executives across emerging markets.
In addition to developing and delivering on business strategy, Shukri will focus on people development and build on the momentum achieved in making Cisco an attractive place to work for talent in the technology sector.
Nicholas Argyrides joins Mindware as Deputy General Manager
Nicholas Argyrides has joined value added distributor Mindware as Chief of Sales and Marketing and Deputy General Manager. Mindware is part of the Midis Group of Companies.
Before joining Mindware, Argyrides worked in Logicom UAE from 2013 to 2016 as Group Director of Sales and Marketing Distribution, and as Managing Director of EMPA Middle East from 2012 to 2013. Prior to that he worked in Jordan and was associated with Logicom from 2002 onwards in various roles and in various countries.
He had numerous leadership roles with track-record of generating results within budgets, settingup new operations and growing managed sales organisations. He had broad exposure at working environments in the USA, Europe, and the Middle East. He has know-how in channel development, partner enablement, organisational restructuring, P & L management, compliance and strategy.
